Hadazawari

28 Vignon street is pleased to present a new photographic online exhibition:  Hadazawari, a Japanese term that literally refers to the sensation of touch on the skin.

Beyond its definition, it evokes a delicate, sensory, almost intimate experience, less a concept than a texture, a fleeting emotion, a shiver felt upon contact with the body.

This online exhibition takes the photographic work of Nobuyoshi Araki as a point of departure to explore diverse approaches to the body and sensuality through a personal selection of photographers. Bringing together around ten artists, it examines how photography can translate our relationship to skin and corporeality.

Works by Saul Leiter, Masao Yamamoto, Eleonor Carucci, Katrien De Blauwer, Daido Moriyama, Savitry, Mark van den Brink, among others, enter into dialogue around this shared theme.

Their singular perspectives form a constellation of images in which the body becomes a sensitive surface, a fragment, a memory, or an emotional material.

This selection also highlights works from the FIFTY ONE collection, alongside private collections, offering an intimate and plural reading of modern and contemporary photography through the prism of hadazawari.
